  • Why does eveyone hate the movie "2012"????

I just don't understand it. People have bashed this movie since it came out. It has a brilliant director who succeds in making amazing movies.

I love the special effects, I mean they destroy every known monument you can think of with such clarity and just pure awesomeness! There is not a scene where you are thinking, "Oh that is totally fake."

The actors in this movie create an amazing ensemble. All the actors in this film portray what we all would if this crisis accured. They portray fear, uncertainty, love, and the willingness to help eachother survive. I mean come on, when I watch this movie I watch it with an open mind and I feel the same way the actors do. That's what you're supposed to do when watching a movie, feel like you're in the movie!

Every critic liked to say that the movie was unrealistic, well we don't know how the world is going to end but we can guess. I feel alot of respect for the people who made this film because it took alot of guts/balls to make an end of the world movie. They did a wonderful job and I love this movie!

So tell me your opinion... Do you like or do nor like the movie "2012"?

    Thanks For Reading,

    Guilty Pleasure #2

    Magazines & Chocolate Oh My!!

It wasn't until I started working in retail when I knew why they put magazines and candy right at the front near the registers. Magazines and chocolate are called impulse items that are put there so that while you are checking out you see these items and are very tempted to buy them. I swore that I would never fall for the impulse items again...but I was wrong.

I am a magazine-aholic and I luvvv chocolate! What is better than a chocolate bar and a magazine to enjoy when you get home after a long day? I tend to think of it as a way to get cultured by reading current events and current fashion trends. My question is:

Do you fall for impulse items? And why do you fall for these items?

    Thanks For Reading,

    Guilty Pleasure #1

    Ghost/Paranormal Stories.

What is it about the paranormal that attracts many of us? I don't about other people and I don't even know if any of you guys believe in the paranormal but I do. I think I believe in it because I've had some experiences. When I was 16 I got in a minor car accident. During the accident I looked to my left at the empty passenger seat for reasons I don't know, there I saw my Grandmother who had died three years ago. A couple of months later when I was 17 I had another, but instead this accident was worse and I wasn't the one driving. After the accident I barely got out of the car and fell down on a sidewalk gasping for air when again I saw my grandmother looking down on me while I was laying down. These experiences were real and I've had weird paranormal things happening to me all my life, which is why I guess I'm so addicted to ghost/paranormal stories.

I love reading about the local haunts in my state or reading about another person's experiences hoping that I can have another look myself at the paranormal world. What is is that fascinates so many people about ghosts and wanting to see them? I know I myself would want to talk to them, hear their story. Can you imagine talking to marilyn monroe and finding out if she really killed herself? What if you could ask Jimmy Hoffa where his body is? Millions of questions could be answered if communication with the dead was possible. I'm not saying that I'm going to try to invent a communication system with the dead but that would be a cool invention if someone else made it. Ghosts and the paranormal are one my guilty pleasures, can you guess the rest of them?  Another question: Do you believe in ghosts/the paranormal? Have you had an other worldy experience?

    Thanks For Reading,

    Allison

Is there a moment in your life that you would like to re-live? Describe it and share with us why.

I would want to relive the night before my grandmother died. I called her Granny Pearl and not only was she my grandmother she was also my second mother. You see, my parents worked a lot when I was younger and so throughout my baby years I would spend the days at my grandmother's house, as I got older we would visit but the only times I'd stay over there is when I was sick(which happened a lot) and when my parents were out of town. I loved her deeply because she was there when I was shining bright and when I had my head in the toilet she would hold back my hair and have a cold washcloth ready. I tell you all of this because she was the third most important person in my life. She promised me support for all my decisions, she promised to meet my very first boyfriend(She was so excited for that day), she promised to be there on my wedding day. I never understood why people make so many promises when they don't know if they will ever keep them. She was diagnosed with several cancers, she beat most of them but one caught her in it's web and never let go. I want to relive the night before she died because I want to redo it. We went to the hospital and everyone had sad looks on their face and even though I was 13 at the time I could understand why they were sad but I didn't want to face it myself. Everyone took turns to come and see her because they told us this would most likely be the only time we would see her alive again. We went in the room and all I could hear was her screaming, but it was weird because she was screaming and moaning with her mouth and eyes closed, almost as if someone was preventing her from seeing or talking. She was in so much pain and I had never seen her that plain, that pained, that human. She always seemed like this bright angel, this superhero. My little cousins went up to tell her they loved her. I was frozen, I couldn't go any closer to her, I was scared and I was angry at her, telling her in my head to hold on. Another reason I didn't go near her was because I thought that if I didn't give her permission then maybe she wouldn't be aloud to leave, unfinished business or something like that.. But she did, early the next morning. I wish I could relive that night so I could change time and tell her how I felt. Maybe I got the idea wrong, not telling her wasn't the answer to keeping her in my life, but maybe if I told her how much I loved her and needed her..maybe she would've stayed longer, or at least I could have told her I loved her. I would love to relive that night so I could end things right.

    Senseless Nudity

Ok, I know guys will hate me but come on!!! Really, does there need to be that much nudity and sex in movies? It takes all the imagination out of everything...it doesn't let you use your imagination at all!

Remember the era when the James Bond movies were made..there was no nudity or sex and guess what? It was a great series of movies! EGATS!! IS this possible? I'll give an example: "Hot Tub Time Machine" had some good laughs but it should have focused more on the jokes and quality of the script rather then have countless nudity and sex scenes.... Then let's look at "The Hangover": There is brief nudity at the end as the credits are rolling and no sex, and guess what? It was a great movie! It focused on being smart and funny and I loved it!

If someone can prove that nudity and sex is vital to this generation of movies then please state your case! Anybody agree? Disagree?
